In a season 1987-88 the design home shirt has changed. Liverpool used home shirt one season, 1987-88. Liverpool used home shirt how in all home, as and in more away matches. In season 1987-88, Liverpool used with home shirt different kits:
  Home shorts and home socks
  Home shorts and fourth socks

In season 1987-88, Liverpool also used second home kits (not know how right named this design kits) in some Friendly matches. Second home kits used in sesons 1985-86 & 1986-87, how home kits.

The new kit for the 1987-88 season showed only a few subtle changes from the previous season. The Adidas stripes on the shirt now extended all the way down the sleeve and the collar was changed to a curious wrap-over design seen for the first time on Liverpool shirts, Although plain red there is a very faint wide stripe that runs through the shirt in almost the same colour, the stripe being a slightly more shiny material, Within the stripes of the shirt the Liver bird and the Adidas badge are repeated and can only be seen on close inspection.

The major change on this shirt being the badge design that was also changed, with the Liver bird now placed in a new shield design with the words Liverpool Football Club written below, This is the same badge that would be used for a number of years after this shirt, The badges stayed an embossed material with the players shirts being stitched.

By now Crown Paints had decided on the best way to display their logo on the front of the shirt and the logo was not seen again on only the one line as had been the case on previous shirts.

In season 1987-88, Liverpool used home shirt with special embroidery, this was in matches FA Cup Final (14.05.1988) & Testimonial Alan Hansen (16.05.1988).

Interesting fact. 27 February 1988, Liverpool visit to Portsmouth, on away Division One match versus the same team Portsmouth. Before the beginning of a match it was found out, that home team (Portsmouth) played in red socks, how I understand this was surprise for Liverpool kits man. The problem has been solved simply, in local shop have been bought socks of black color.

In 1988 the agreement with U K firm Crown Paints has ended six-year and Liverpool has signed three-year the agreement with Italy firm Candy. The agreement with Candy will end in a season 1991-92.

ATTENTION: Genuine match worn shirts from this year feature an embroidered Adidas badge (with two registered ® trademarks) and an embroidered Liverbird. Unlike the previous seasons, there was only one type of sponsorship logo; a double-lined version as shown above. Once again, no long sleeve replicas were ever released by Adidas. I not to see replica shirts with long sleeve in season 1987-88.
If you cannot distinguish a player shirt from a replica or a semifinished item, consult to Michael Yip (www.liverpoolkits.com).
