In 1985 Liverpool changed their kit manufacturer after a long
association with Umbro. The new kit supplier was Adidas and the new kit was actually in
use at the end of the 1984-85 season for the fateful Heysel European Cup Final. The first
Adidas Liverpool kit was plain red with the three Adidas stripes in white on the shoulders
and the sides of the shorts. The stripe effect also carried on through the V-neck of the
shirt along with the end of the sleeves, Within the stripes of the shirt the Liver bird
and the Adidas badge are repeated and can only be seen on close inspection, The club
sponsors remained Crown Paints.
The sponsors logo was written on one line at first but it changed in the second
season, written on two lines so it became larger (and easier to see on a TV screen), The
shirt badges upon the replica shirts are an embossed material where as they would have
been fully stitched upon the players issue shirts, a trend that has been seen through the
majority of Liverpool shirt since.
In season 1987-88, Liverpool used second home shirt with special embroidery, this
was in match Testimonial Sammy Lee.
In 1988 the agreement with U K firm Crown Paints has ended six-year and Liverpool
has signed three-year the agreement with Italy firm Candy. The agreement with Candy will
end in a season 1991-92.

Attention! If you wish to buy a player shirt Liverpool on the
Internet auction, be close. Be careful of a fake or purchases of a player shirt a semi
finished item. The semi finished item is when on a game shirt added patches (Premier
League or other tournaments), a logo "Carlsberg", a surname and number of the
player. One of large collectors of shirt of Liverpool Michael Yip warns about unfair
