  In a season 1988-89 the main rule of difference of player shirts from replicas has been destroyed, Liverpool began to used in all matches (except for match FA Cup Final), shirts with rubber embossed an emblem club and trade mark Adidas, that is replicas. The special embroidery as was absent in matches Charity Shield 1971, 1974, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992 & 1994. Liverpool also played in 60's Charity Shield matches, but and this matches used simple shirt, without special embroidery.

  In 1988 the agreement with U K firm Crown Paints has ended six-year and Liverpool has signed three-year the agreement with Italy firm Candy. The agreement with Candy will end in a season 1991-92.
