Liverpool
FC kits in tour to USA & Canada 1946
In May and June 1946, firs in Liverpool FC histoty, club to go in tour for USA and
Canada, was played 10 matches. From me not as more information, photos, which kits played
Liverpool in season 1945-46, but have some photos with tour for USA & Canada, very
interesting photos. May be in this my artickle have mistakes, or I not correctly do
conclusions.
What I know on this day (January 2019), about Liverpool kits which these
played in season 1945-46. Have two team photo which was made in season 1945-46.
Back row: John Easdale, George “Harry” Kaye, Alf Hobson,
Jack Westby, Jack
Pilling and Joffre Gulliver.
Front row: Billy Liddell, Phil Taylor, Jack Balmer, Les Shannon and Don
Welsh. This photo with site (www.lfchistory.net), photo made how I assume 12 September
1945, at Anfield before match verus Everton. please note that Liverpool have once again
started using black leggings with a red top.
I can now suggest what in season 1945-46, Liverpool played in shirt with round
collar and with laces. Only suggest.
Have else one photo, also with site (www.lfchistory.net), team photo made on board
the RMS Queen Mary on their way to USA.
Here more Liverpool players in away kits, and only two
players in home shirts, also home shirts have round collar and with laces.
Pay attention, on Frank Shelley dressing training kits with the sewed emblem
of club (Liverbird and L.A.F.C.) in a board.

This photo (www.history.net) also with tour to USA & Canada. Not information
versus which team played Liverpool. On the shirt of the opponents team you can see the
letter "N", I think what this team - New York All Stars and Liverpool played
versus NYAS 12 May 1946. On photo may be Jack Balmer (left), Berry Nieuwenhuys (7). On
Liverpool players in this match dressing shirts with white turn-down collar and red-white
socks.

On photo (www.mediastorehouse.com) below,
how I think white collar some big when on Stubbins photo. All you know what
Albert Stubbins signed deal with Liverpool 12 September 1946, but Albert in red shirt with
white turn-down collar. Question, Liverpool players used these style shirts after tour in
North America only in training or in matches also?
Else can suggest what this style shirts can used Reserves team, why not. |
This three photos made after match versus American League Select, 19 May 1946. If
to visit on site (www.history.net), Liverpool start lane in this match was; Sidlow,
Harley, Ramsden, Taylor, Hughes, Spicer, Nieuwenhuys, Balmer, Done, Fagan, Priday. Not was
sub in this match.
But Bob Paisley (4) dressing in home shirts with round collar and laces, on Bob
red-white socks. Bill Jones (1), Kenneth Seddon (2) and Harry Eastham (3), in shirts with
white turn-down collar and red-white socks.
This only my suggest, but I think now shirts with
round collar and socks which was used in match 19 May 1946, may be was gifts owners this
match in New York. Course we can suggest, what shirt was red color and red-white socks.
Socks can was and other color.
Else have one big question, Bill Jones, Kenneth
Seddon and Harry Eastham, shirts with white turn-down collar was give of Liverpool or this
also gifts owners this match in New York. Photo with Facebook group The Unofficial Liverpool Football Club Museum
also you can res some interesting information about this photo.
Think on Liverpool shirts was player numbers.

This photo with this page Liverpool
FC Historical Group, one of tour match. Liverpool's Jack Balmer swaps pennants. Not
information when made photo of this match, but ours interesting else one, was used else
one style shirt of Liverpool FC tour to North America.
Pay attention, on Jack Balmer dressing shirts with red turn-down collar and
with little white internal lath under buttons. On Liverpool FC pennant club emblem, in red
circle.
Interesting fact: After the game, Kay (George Kay -
manager Liverpool F?C) mentioned his dissatisfaction with the prolonged celebrations of
the New England men following their goals, relying on tired American stereotypes: “Joe
and Ed flung their arms around each other, waited in the center circle, and it needed only
a banjo to make it a real hill-billy show. The other players of their side gave individual
step dances in their joy.” Just as football tours have a long history, so too does
English condescension towards the American interpretation of the game.
If who has information on it or what you think, shall be glad. Write to me contact us.
On the left side upper page there is a form (front and back)
in the style of the computer game PES 2016, I apologize for some inaccuracy of my work.
