In season 1974-75 on Liverpool shirt was a UMBRO logo of new design, big white embroidered written UMBRO logo (picture to look in middle  left side page). Course difficult now written how more matches Liverpool played in this design shirt. How I know what in this design home shirt Liverpool played one season 1974-75. But may be in first this was on Liverpool shirt, on goalkeeper shirt in match Charity Shield versus Leeds United (10.08.1974) , to watch picture in left, Ray Clemence in this match.   If who read this page earlier, can noticeo, was written, what big white written UMBRO logo was printed, now other information.

Away shirt with this design UMBRO logo made for season 1974-75, but I not know used Liverpol or not.On 100% can writte, what in one match in season 1975-76 this design away shirt was used. On photo Emlyn Hughes and John Toshack after match after away UEFA Cup Semi-Final match versus Barcelona (Spain, 30.03.1976).

  This logos Umbro which was used on Liverpool shirts in seasons 1973-74 to 1975-76.

  But the most important, that in one match the most part of players played in shirts of one design (with a Umbro logo) and one or several players played in shirts another of design (without a Umbro logo).

  How to distinguish a shirt of a season 1968-69, from a shirt of a season 1975-76, very difficultly.   Now can write only one, in season 1975-76 Liverpool goalkeepers used in matches not only goalkeeper shirts (big yellow UMBRO logo & yellow Liverbird) new design. but and goalkeeper shirts last season. I cannot explain it.



 

  This not 100% right information (if what will add), but with season 1975-76 shirts was made of new fabric, nylon. Before Liverpool shirts was made of cotton.

  In season 1975-76, Liverpool used home goalkeeper shirt with special embroidery, this was for match UEFA Cup Final (19.05.1976).



  This photo Ray Clemence I to find today (1 November 2018) in page Liverpool FC Historical Group, Ray in Admiral goalkeeper shirt. Written what his at Victoria Ground versus Stoke City. I think what this match was 26 December 1975 or may be 31 March 1975. Why Clemence wearing Admiral shirt, your assumption please contact us. Simple answer can be. Kitman (Joe Fagan or Ronnie Moran) forgot to bring goalkeeper shirt at Melwood.

Interesting, but only on goalkeeper shirt, used player number with UMBRO logo. This design player number was used on Liverpool goalkeeper shirt three seasons, 1974-75, 1975-76 & 1976-77.   Player number with manufacturer logo was used on all shirts, field players, as and goalkeepers, only in season 1985-86. This was first season after deal Liverpool F.C. and western Germany firm Adidas (left image).   On site Old football shirts (www.oldfootballshirts.com) have photos Livepool goalkeeper shirt with big white embroidered written UMBRO logo & white embroidered Liverbird (left down image). Color they goalkeeper shirt, is black. Only I not understand, which matches can use goalkeeper shirt black color, as in those days, color referees kits also was black.

  This UMBRO logos which was used on Liverpool shirts in seasons 1972-73 to 1975-76.
