1913-14
Home players shirt
Manufacturer:
Years worn: 1909-19
In this design home shirt Liverpool first played in ...
In general difficultly in detail to write about these years
Liverpool, but I shall return to this stage of their history and I shall write more in
detail. May be all not as, how I has written.
In a season 1909-19 the design home shirt has changed. Liverpool used home shirt
ten seasons, 1909-10 to 1918-19 (time of use home shirt is probably inexact). Liverpool
used home shirt how in home, as and in more away matches. In season 1913-14, Liverpool may
be used with home shirt different kits:
Home shorts and home socks
Home shorts and away socks
Away shorts and home socks
Away shorts and away socks
H 1.0 - Home shirt with home shorts & home or away
socks (which I assume now).
H 1.1 - Home shirt with home shorts & home socks.
* * - Unknown me now which kits used in this matches.
Used Liverpool with sesson 1911-12 to 1919-20 white shirts, I
not know. On this moment I not have not one photos, if you have information, write to me.
In season 1913-14, Liverpool used home shirt without special embroidery, this was
in neutral match FA Cup Final , 25.04.1914.
In 1891 the Football League required member clubs to register
their colours for the first time and no two teams were allowed to wear similar shirts. The
following year, when the Second Division was formed this rule was relaxed but home teams
were now required to have a spare set of white shirts, which could be used if colours
clashed. (historicalkits.co.uk, David Moor)
I think what in life all was other. Now I have some photos (below 1st image) with
in away match Division One versus Aston Villa (06.12.1913), Liverpool played in away
shirt.
Else one, in neutral matches FA Cup Semi-Final versus Aston Villa (28.03.1914) and
FA Cup Final versus Burnley (25.04.1914), Liverpool, how Aston Villa and Burnley played in
home shirt.
Have also other photo (below 2nd image) with in away match Division One versus
Middlesbrough (18.04.1914 or 20.03.1915), Liverpool played in away shirt. Which shirt home
or away Liverpool played in season 1913-14, in matches versus Arsenal Woolwich, Bristol
City, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest I not know now. May be rules Football League also
not worker in matches with this team. Step by step we know more of history Liverpool FC
and will small white holes.
1st image, Aston Villa gave
Campbell, the Liverpool custodian, plenty to do on Saturday.
2nd image, In addition, the LFC
player (in striped shirt) is Sam Speakman. The Middlesbrough player is Walter Tinsley.
Lace collar used in seasons

|
Left image, lace collar used in
season 1909-10. .Right image, this of course not Liverpool shirt, this rare Arsenal shirt
with FA Cup Final 1927 (I without Arsenal emblem with shirt). Why to do this shirt, simple
what you know as the shirt of those times really looks.
Lace collar used in seasons
1919-31, of white lining inside the laced collar.
This pre-seson Liverpool photo,
you can see how players tie the laces on the collar. To make you understand the 10th year
in the 20th century, as later, players wore uniforms until they were torn. Interesting
about kits written Harry Redknapp in book "A Man Walks On To a Pitch". read an
excerpt from the book here.
In FA Cup Final match some
Liverpool players was in socks with white stripe in top. 1- Jimmy Nicholl (photo before FA
Cup Final). Ephraim Longworth (FA Cup Final),. 3- Arthur Metcalf and Ephraim Longworth (FA
Cup Final).
. The main color of the Liverpool
socks I think was black. David Moor (historicalkits.co.uk) think what Liverpool socks was
red. David has his own special technology for detecting color from old black-white photos

David Moor think what stripes
was red-white, as how his have information from newspaper.
The Liverpool Echo (8 November 1913) describes
"paralysed pink costumes" against Burnley, possibly a reference to the worn out,
faded state of the shirts.

Liverpool in black and white stripes can’t avoid
defeat
When the teams turned out Burnley were wearing blue and white striped jerseys, but
owing to the similarity with those worn by the Liverpool team, whose jersey, instead of
being red, were black and white stripes, Burnley returned to the dressing-room and donned
their familiar colours.

sweater. May be I mistake. About colour sweater, it's hard for me to tell from a

I also use information with sites historicalkits.co.uk and unitedkits.com.
Goalkeepers were also now allowed to wear different shirts
than the
outfield players (a choice of scarlet red, royal blue or white in
1909-10, with green a further option three seasons later). (Peter Crilly"Tops of The

There were no specially produced tops for 'keepers who
normally wore heavy woollen sweaters, often teamed with flat caps to keep the sun out of
their eyes. How write David Moor (historicalkits.co.uk), in Englad, goalkeepers basically
used goalkeepers shirt in green color, in Scotland, yellow color.
On pre-season photo we to see Elisha Scott and Ken Campbell

white goalkeeper sweater, but this is not accurate. Write what you think to me.
