In general difficultly in detail to write about these years
Liverpool, but I shall return to this stage of their history and I shall write more in
detail. May be all not as, how I has written.
In a season ? the design home goalkeeper shirt has changed. Liverpool used home
goalkeeper shirt ? season, ? (time of use goalkeeper shirt is probably inexact). Liverpool
used home goalkeeper shirt how in home, as and in away matches.
In season 1931-32, in home and away matches Liverpool can used with home goalkeeper
shirt & away shorts (black or navy), socks - color red or black may be.

Course in 20-30s years goalkeepers played not in goalkeeper shirt, they played in
woolen a sweater. Sweaters was different colors, but main was green.
Now not can write, than differs sweater season 1922-23, from sweater season 1931-32
and sweater season 1939-40 (photos below). Course this sweater s can made different
manufacturer, Bukta, Umbro or others.

Interesting fact: May with season 1928-29, not good photo (in the further I shall specify)
Liverpool goalkeepers played in kneecaps. But on 100%, what on photo with season 1930-31,
on Liverpool goalkeeper Elisha Scott (18.04.1931) kneecaps are dressed. |
Used Liverpool goalkeepers only green sweaters I not know. As how was matches,
when Liverpool played versus team, whish colors was green (Plymouth Argyle 1954-1952),
green-white (Bradford Park Avenue 2014-1920), red-green (South Shields 1920) and
yellow-green Norwich City 1920-1923 & 1927-1947).
On this moment I have some photos Elisha Scott with season 1931-32. One of photo
not very good (photo in top left page, Elisha Scott H G 1.0) ith away FA Cup match versus
Everton (09.01.1932).

Players, and later clubs, generally bought their playing
kit from local sports outfitters. The kits were often locally made by the outfitters or
small garment manufacturers. Bukta, founded in 1879, were the first mass manufacturer of
football kits, and remained so until Humphrey Brothers Clothing were formed in 1920 in
Wilmslow, Cheshire. In 1924 they became Umbro. Although these two Companies came to
dominate the market they relied upon distributors and the local sports outfitters rather
than supplying clubs direct.
Note that Liverpool FC did not release any replicas shirts
prior to season 1978-1979.
