Years worn: 2000
In this design second home shirt (small Carlsberg logo) Liverpool played in home
Testimonial Ronnie Moran match versus Celtic (Glasgow, Scotland), 4-1, 16.05.2000, at
Anfield.
Match main teams was played after match Legends Liverpool and Celtic (Glasgow). For
Testimonial Ronnie Moran match was used replica shirt, but on shirt was made special match
embroidery. Why this shirt, replica, simple on right sleeve have plastic logo
"HYDROMOVE".
Why on my site you can read "Second home player shirt", only for
classification of the kits. on my site.
This was not first in history club, when in
one of match end season, Liverpool used kits next season. This was how in Friendly, as in
official matches. For example, in matches:
European Cup Final, vs Juventus (Turin, Italy), 29.05.1985.
Full list to see here.
Was used a special one-off match embroidery in capital letters
"RONNIE MORAN TESTIMONIAL 16TH MAY 2000 LIVERPOOL V CELTIC" on the chest of the
shirt.
Testimonial matches, it at times farewell (honour) matches of players leaving or
soon to leave club, there Is, as to matches Testimonial Bill Shankly (04.29.1975) or
Testimonial Ronnie Moran (0516.2000) which have been played after the termination of
staff's career in Liverpool, shall remind, Ronnie Moran was the player of Liverpool with
1952 for 1965. on May, 16th one more match on Anfield, a match Legends Liverpool and
Celtic (Glasgow) has been played. In match Kenny Dalglish played the first half time for
Celtic, and in the second half for Liverpool, interesting one, Kenny Dalglish in the
second half time has forgotten to change clothes of socks (look below). And the second,
veterans played one shirts, and a basis of Liverpool in others, I about design of shirts,
Besides on shirts of Legends was not usual advertising of club Carlsberg, and was TRAVEL
OPTIONS. TRAVEL OPTIONS as I understand, the sponsor of a team Liverpool Legends in this
match. I shall notice as, team Celtic Legends, played in shirts not the basic team, and
the sponsor was another.
Liverpool Legends played in the Ronnie Moran
Testimonial match in the 1998-2000 home shirt with a special shirt sponsor "TRAVEL
OPTIONS" logo (printes), instead of Carlsberg logo. |

Second home players shirt
Manufacturer: Reebok
Club sponsor: Carlsberg
Years worn: 2000
In this design second home shirt (bigger Carlsberg logo) Liverpool played in away
Testimonial Steve Staunton & Tony Cascarino match versus Ireland XI, 2-4, 21.05.2000,
at Lansdowne Road, Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Liverpool player Steve Staunton (№ 1 1986-91 & 1998-2000) in this match
played for Republic of Ireland XI. For team Republic of Ireland XI played also some
Liverpool formers: Mark Kennedy (№ 2 1994-98), Robbie Keane (№ 4 2008-09) and Jason
McAteer (№ 3 1995-99).
Interesting fact: Robbie Fowler,
Sander Westerveld and Sami Hyypia.
Interesting photo because if the players Liverpool had played
in the new design, Sander Westerveld out goalie in the kit of the old type. The
interesting thing is that this match was made the goalkeeper shirt with special embroidery
for this match of the new season, but there is one thing. The goalkeeper's shirt for the
new season, green as the national football team of Ireland.
Was used a special one-off match embroidery in capital letters
"STEPHEN STAUNTON TONY CASCARINO TESTIMONIAL 21ST MAY 2000" on the chest of the
shirt. |
