 August 1998: the home team dressing-room at Anfieldaheadofa pre-season friendly with Inter Milan. Strip-lights, green carpet, and three- dozen pairs of boots (all predominantly black) arranged on the floor besides two treatment tables with towels and a bag of footballs, while the kit is laid out on wooden benches and metal pegs.
