  In Charity Shield (11.08.1979) match was used simple home shirt (photo in top left page, Kenny Dalglish & Phil Thompson H 1.-), in shirt not was special embroidery to this match. The special embroidery as was absent in matches Charity Shield 1971, 1974, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992 & 1994. Liverpool also played in 60's Charity Shield matches, but and this matches used simple shirt, without special embroidery.

  In this Charity Shield match, all Liverpool field players played in home shirts with big UMBRO logo, on Team Coach's - Joe Fagan and Ronnie Moran on bench was also in home shirts with big UMBRO logo (photo below). Only Ray Clemence was dress home goalkeeper shirt with small UMBRO logo.

  I wish to remind, that since a season 1978-79, Liverpool played in shirts with small UMBRO logo. Practice has shown, that after the termination 1977-78, in three following, on players it was possible to see home shirts of old style (with big UMBRO logo)..

  Interesting fact: In center photo on bench Bob Paisley, but not this main, in left, Steve Ogrizovic, dress in drill top with white big UMBRO logo, in right, Sammy Lee dress in drill top with white small UMBRO logo.



  On bench in this match ware Ronnie Moran, Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan. On Ronnie Moran and Joe Fagan also dress home shirts with big UMBRO logo I also think what this shirts was with number 13. Shirt with number 13 I named "staff shirt". My article about this read here.

  This image with home match Division One versus Tottenham Hotspur (02.09.1978), show Steve Heighway (small UMBRO logo) and Graeme Souness (big UMBRO logo) in different shirts in one match. Why Graeme Souness has put on this shirt, success or for other season, can be and in some other matches, shirts of old design - with big UMBRO logo have been used. This was and in seasons 1978-79, 1979-80 & 1980-81, may be & 1981-82.

  Only not think when only Liverpool players used shirt old style.
