BEWARE: Once again do not be fooled by those sellers who claim that they are selling a match worn shirt because the badges are embroidered. Many replicas sold in the shops back in 1982 had both embroidered Umbro Logos and embroidered Liverbirds. A genuine player shirt should have embroidered badges, but also WORDED sizings on the neck label.

1980-81 replica kit still in the original Umbro box-set. Note that footy was strictly "for boys" in those days (inside Umbro box-set not a Liverpool replica kits). This box-set can to buy in any sport shops in Great Britain.

Difference between a player shirt and a replica shirt, and as other features of a player shirt

According to my observations on the widely available (and highly priced) replica shirts, the Liverbird on the replicas can either be felt embossed or embroidered. But the UMBRO logo and letters on the replica shirts I have seen are felt embossed. And only on a players shirt you can find it beautifully embroidered.

UMBRO logo and letters on the replica shirts I have seen are printed.

All player shirts must have the Umbro logo and Liverbird fully embroidered into the shirt. However, there is a mix of official replicas either with felt-velveteen Umbro logo and Liverbird, or embroidered ones.

As usual, all UMBRO era genuine player shirts come with size tag printed with WORDS (LARGE - size Kenny Dalglish) instead of NUMERICS on replica shirt. Shirt size on label replica shirts can printed different, in one or two line. in sm or inch.

Player's number on backside is a piece of machine-stitched cloth.
