Home players shirt
Manufacturer: Umbro
Years worn: 1947-51
In this design home shirt (Liverpool first played in ...
In a season 1947-48 the design home shirt has changed. Liverpool used home shirt
four seasons, 1947-48 to 1950-51 (time of use shirt is probably inexact). Liverpool used
home shirt how in more home, as and in more away matches.
H 1.0 - Home shirt with home shorts & home socks.
H 1.0 * - Unknown me now which design home kits used
in this matches, but I assume used home shirt.
My pages about history of Liverpool shirts in 50th years,
most likely, contain mistakes in dating use of a shirt with a while turn-down collars. Why
it is difficult, not so it is a lot of photos (at me) these years and very little where
there is a date when the photo is made. It concerns also a photo of a Liverpool team.
In season 1950-51, Liverpool used also home shirt with white lining on the button
section on the collar. This shirt was made of lightweight cotton interlock fabric.
Left to right: 1st image, Front home player shirt with red
turn-down collar with red lining on the button section on the collar (1st variant).. 2nd
image, Front home player shirt with red turn-down collar with white lining on the button
section on the collar (2nd variant).
Now difficult say, why Liverpool used in one season home
shirts with different fabric and design collars. If it is logical to argue, home shirts
from a dense fabric need to be used in cold weather, and home shirts from easier fabric,
in matches, in usual weather. But in life all not so.
Interesting fact. Liverpool can
used home shirtt with turn-down collar, but different thickness of a fabric,
lightweight or heavyweight cotton interlock fabric.
Size player number of the players on a back at Bill Jones is
less, than at the player of Burnley (right image). Can to me it seems, but design of
pllayer numbers (2) on Liverpool home shirt (Bill Jones) and away shirts (Bill Jones)
different. Photo with season 1951-52.
In Umbro catalogue (1957) offer sale players numbers 1-15 and size number is 9
inches (22,86 sm). How I can assume Liverpool used player number in 9 inches, if I
mistake, write to me, on e-mail.
This socks on foots Liverpool players, sock have different
size line.
Down we can to see matches list when used away kits was. In section A 1.0 / H 1.0 have teams how: Blackpool, Stoke City, Sunderland and
Wolverhampton Wanderers. Why this team here, as how I not have photos or information with
this match. In some seasons, Liverpool played in away matches with these teams in home
kits.

shirt made with some echanges (on a collar and thickness of a fabric), how andcompany
manufacturer.

Years worn: 1950-51
In this design home goalkeeper shirt Liverpool first played in ...
In general difficultly in detail to write about these years
Liverpool, but I shall return to this stage of their history and I shall write more in
detail. May be all not as, how I has written.
In a season ? the design home goalkeeper shirt has changed. Liverpool used home
goalkeeper shirt ? season, ? (time of use goalkeeper shirt is probably inexact). Liverpool
used home goalkeeper shirt how in home, as and in away matches.
In season 1950-51, in home and away matches Liverpool used with home goalkeeper
shirt, away shorts (black or navy).
H G 1.0 - Home goalkeeper shirt with away shorts &
home socks.
Of course in 20-30-40-50s years goalkeepers played not in goalkeeper shirt, they
played in woolen a sweater. Sweaters was different colors, but main was green.
If Liverpool field players to go in pitch with season 1939-40
in shirts with player numbers, Liverpool goalkeepers played in this season how and late in
goalkeeper shirts without player number. Only with season 1974-75, on Liverpool goalkeeper
shirt can to see player number.
|
|
Interesting fact. Liverpool soalkeepers in more matches used home goalkeeper shirt, away
shorts (black or navy). Even if field players were in home (white) shorts. Goalkeepers of
contenders played cowards, as well as field players. Fragment of photo with match
Fulham-Liverpool (29.10.1949), Cyril Sidlow. |
