LFC to wear poppies with pride on Remembrance Sunday
7th November 2018
Liverpool will play in special shirts embroidered with poppies to commemorate
Remembrance Day when they host Fulham at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds' players will sign their jerseys after the match and donate them to the
Royal British Legion for auction to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.
Last year, the special edition shirts worn by the team during the fixture against
Huddersfield Town raised Ј18,759.21 for the Royal British Legion.
These vital funds help the organisation support today's generation of armed forces
families and veterans, whether they are living with an injury or illness, coping with
bereavement or finding employment.
In addition to the minute's silence before the 12pm GMT kick-off, Liverpool's squad
will also honour the two-minute silence at 11am, with stadium operations falling silent.
Also, the stadium's flags will fly at half-mast throughout the day in honour of the
fallen.
Prior to kick-off, the teams will be led onto the pitch by Royal British Legion
standard bearers Lyndsey Taggart and Eddie Flaherty, along with two service men from the
RAF, Sergeant John Bullock and Corporal Jeremy Ambrose.
The LFC Poppy Pin, which features the club crest and Royal British Legion Poppy, is
on sale now in all UK club stores, LFC's
official online store and via the Royal
British Legion’s online poppy shop.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds raised from sale of the badge, which is priced
at Ј2.99, will go directly to the Royal British Legion.
Claire Rowcliffe, director of fundraising at the Royal British Legion, said:
"This Poppy Appeal, as we mark 100 years since the end of the First World War, the
Royal British Legion is asking the nation to say ‘thank you’ to the entire First World
War generation.
"That’s not just the British Armed Forces, but those who fought alongside
them from today’s Commonwealth and the countless men, women and children who played
their part on the home front.
"We’re incredibly pleased that the Premier League has chosen to support the
Royal British Legion for the seventh year running. All the money generously donated by the
Premier League fans will help us support today’s Armed Forces community through
hardships, injury and bereavements.”

Why Liverpool are wearing ‘Seeing is Believing’
on their shirts against Manchester City - and what their record in them is
The Reds are supporting the charity for the eighth-successive season
Supporters will have noticed Liverpool took to the field against Manchester City
with ‘Seeing is Believing’ on their shirts instead of regular sponsors Standard
Chartered.
Seeing is Believing is an initiative that works with Standard Chartered to improve
access to affordable eye care in an effort to tackle avoidable blindness.
The Reds have shown their support of the charity in each of the past seven seasons,
reserving one match day to wear the charity’s logo on their kit in order to raise
awareness.
More than 253 million people around the world suffer from visual impairment issues,
up to 80% of cases can be prevented or cured.
Standard Chartered has focused on eliminating avoidable blindness since 2003 and
has reached over 150 million people through medical interventions, eye exams and eye
health education. Since inception, Seeing is Believing has run 166 projects across 36
countries.
To date, more than Ј300,000 has been raised by the partnership through fan
contributions, auction proceeds and SCB matching donations.
Items such as the signed match-worn shirts, Jordan Henderson ’s captain’s
armband, a pair of signed replica Jurgen Klopp glasses and a signed limited edition
braille programme have all gone under the hammer in the name of the charity.
Liverpool first bore the ‘Seeing is Believing’ logo on their shirt when they
beat Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield in May 2012.
They have lost just once when wearing the charity's logo over the last eight
seasons, while Sunday's draw with Manchester City means the last three ‘Seeing is
Believing’ fixtures have ended 0-0 after the last two seasons' stalemates with
Manchester United.

New Liverpool 2018/19 away kit release date revealed
13 Juny 2018
Supporters eagerly anticipating the launch of next season's fresh look and
wondering what colour it will be
Following the launch of Liverpool's new home kit for the 2018/19 season last month,
fans are looking forward to the Reds' next away colours being revealed.
The unveiling of the new kit is always one of the most eagerly-anticipated
off-the-field events for fans as they wonder just what kind of design has been chosen.
And the kit will be revealed at 9am (BST) on Wednesday, June 13.
Such launches have become increasingly high-profile for Liverpool in recent seasons
with first team stars participating in city centre public appearances to show off their
new colours, enabling supporters to catch a glimpse of the strips ahead of summer months
and holiday season.
An added source of intrigue with away kits of course is just what colour they are
going to be.
Traditionally, either white or yellow have been standard choices for the Reds when
there's been a colour clash but in recent seasons an array of different bold combinations
have been used.
And a teaser released on Twitter on Tuesday evening may have hinted at another bold
shade.
Over the past decade there has been an all-silver kit – in a throwback to the
late 1980s/early 1990s; various white numbers (including one that perhaps controversially
included blue trim albeit a lighter hue than the royal blue used at neighbours Everton);
all-yellow and all-black while this season a white and green quarters effect was adopted
which was a nod to the 1995/96 change strip.

PIN Why was Jurgen Klopp wearing a purple pin badge
in Liverpool’s Champions League match?
6th November 2018
Eagle-eyed viewers noticed the Liverpool boss wearing a lilac-coloured pin
It’s that time of year again, isn’t it?
The weather’s turned colder, we briefly pretend to care about Halloween and
everyone’s talking about poppies.
Poppies, eh? For some, it’s a quiet sign of Remembrance. To others, it’s an
icon of Brexit nationalism.
To us, it’s a reason to remember that James McClean is still a footballer who
actually exists.
Much like in Great Britain and the countries of Commonwealth, Armistice Day is
celebrated in Serbia, where it has been a statutory holiday since 2012.
Difference is, their chosen emblem is the Natalie’s Ramonda, or the Ramonda
nathaliae, which is a a lilac coloured flower that grows in Serbia and is considered a
symbol of the Serbian Army’s struggle during World War I.
So, for those of you wondering, that’s what Jurgen Klopp was wearing in Liverpool’s
match against Red Star Belgrade this evening.
Many eagle-eyed viewers noticed the Reds boss sporting the pin on his coat in the
away clash, while Sadio Mane and Alisson wore the jersey version.
Pin-badges or not, the Reds suffered a shock defeat in Serbia, with two goals from
Milan Pavkov handing Red Star the win to make their Champions League group rather tasty.
A win would’ve given Liverpool a four-point advantage at the top of Group C, but
Napoli and Paris St-Germain now have a real opportunity of overtaking last season’s
finalists.

Liverpool FC launch new 2018-19 New Balance third kit
12 July 2018
Liverpool FC and New Balance have today launched the team's third kit for the
2018-19 season with the help of a virtual squad in a world-first.
Working together with club partners New Balance and Konami, the kit has officially
been revealed via an exclusive preview of Pro Evo 19 footage of Jьrgen Klopp’s men
wearing the new kit, ahead of the new game’s release in August.
Fans can get a virtual glimpse of their favourite players walking out onto the
field for the first time sporting the new strip that features a grey violet body and a
steel gradient print - making LFC the first club to use PES video game graphics to launch
a new jersey.
The 2018-19 third kit pays homage to fan favourite kits from 1987-91, particularly
the Reds’ strip from the historic 1989-90 season, when Kenny Dalglish’s side became
First Division champions for the 18th time.
The jersey also features racing red detail on the shoulder panels, a red crest and
NB logo, as well as a crew neck collar with insert.
The goalkeeper third shirt has been engineered in line with the outfield players’
jerseys and is a bold pink glo with black patterned sleeves and black embroidered logo and
crest. The kit is completed with pink glo shorts and socks, with a black cuff to the lower
sock.
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane said: “We had a strong campaign in 2017-18, and we
already can’t wait for the new season to begin. I’m really looking forward to stepping
out onto the pitch and playing in the kit - it’s a really strong look.”
This season, LFC has introduced a new name and number style, exclusive to LFC
Retail. It is available in club stores at a reduced price of Ј10 (previously Ј15 at full
price). The new fonts have been designed to embody iconic characteristics of Anfield and
the surrounding area.
Fans who purchase an adult shirt, junior shirt, mini kit or baby kit before August
1, 2018 will also receive a Ј10 Liverpool FC retail voucher to spend in store and online
during August.
Season ticket holders and Members also receive 10 per cent discount when purchasing
the kit from the club.

ground. In one match Liverpool players was in red socks, vs WHU in grey soks. What on
moment game vs Burnley not was grey socks, was only light grey socks.
Your assumption, why Liverpool in match vs Burnley, not
played in grey socks. I want to remind you that the main socks color for this third kits
is light grey.
I can't understand the logic of making these
decisions. This is the decision of the referees, the maintenance service or the coaching
staff of the team.

And a teaser released on Twitter on Tuesday evening may have hinted at another bold
shade.
Over the past decade there has been an all-silver kit – in a throwback to the
late 1980s/early 1990s; various white numbers (including one that perhaps controversially
included blue trim albeit a lighter hue than the royal blue used at neighbours Everton);
all-yellow and all-black while this season a white and green quarters effect was adopted
which was a nod to the 1995/96 change strip.

Barcelona and the match officials.
However, supporters should note that this is a one-off shirt and will not be
available for purchase.
