Home players shirt
Manufacturer: Umbro
Years worn: 1968-76
In this design home shirt (without UMBRO logo) Liverpool first played in ...
In a season 1968-99 the design home shirt has changed. Liverpool used home shirt
eight seasons, 1968-69 to 1975-76 (time of use shirt is probably inexact). Liverpool used
home shirt how in all home, as and in more away matches.
H 1.0 - Home shirt with home shorts (without Umbro
logo) & home socks.
H 1.1 - Home shirt (special embroidery CUP FINAL 1971)
with home shorts (embroidery UMBRO logo) & home socks.
* 1- * - Unknown me now which kits used in this
matches.
In season 1970-71, Liverpool used home shirt with special embroidery, this was in
match FA Cup Final.
Simply with end season 1972-73, Liverpool used home shirt with different Umbro logo
on shirt. And in seasons, 1973-74 & 1974-75, Liverpool can used home shirt how with
Umbro logo, as and without Umbro logo. In season 1975-76, Liverpool can used home shirt
without Umbro logo in Friendly matches, as how all season Liverpool used home shirt with
white Umbro logo.
On January 2021 year, I know what first in the History Liverpool FC, may be 27
March 1971 year, on the Liverpool shirts appeared the emblem of the manufacturer of the
kits of the company Umbro, it was on the goalkeeper's shirt, not on shirt field players.
This was in neutral FA Cup match versus Everton. As to the first occurrence of Umbro logo
on shirts of field players it was in home match UEFA Cup Final 1st Leg versus Borussia
Moenchengladbach (FRG), 10.05.1973.
Embroidered UMBRO logo (black-white-red) on FA Cup Final home
goalkeeper shirt and on second home shorts (not can other named).
31 Dec 2020, Kieran O'Connor in facebook "Liverpool FC
Historical Group" publishing some photos. Liverpool players in training kits with
numbers on tracksuit top, shorts and pants. On photo Ray Clemence, J McLaughlin &
Reuben Bennett. Photos may be made 23 March 1971.
This screenshot with video Division One match versus Everton
(21.11.1970). Here we to watch Bob Paisley (Team Coach) in black zip tracksuit top with
stiched embroidey logo company Gola. Why I draw your attention to this, Liverpool bought
boots from the Gola company. But we can see in the photo from the training sessions that
the coaching staff is dressed not only in sports suits of the company Umbro, but also of
the companyGola. It is a natural question whether the club bought sports suits from the
company Gola, or it received as a bonus for the coaching staff.
This UMBRO labels under a collar which was on Liviverpool
shirta in seasons with 1968-69 to 1975-76. How I think, may be I mistake. 1st image, in
1968-70. 2nd image, in 1970-71. 3rd image, in unknown. 4th image, in 1972-74. 5th image,
in 1974-76.
How to distinguish a shirt of a season 1968-69, from a shirt of a season 1975-76,
very difficultly. Certainly, were for this time of change in design of a collar and cuffs,
labels UMBRO, and certainly since a season 1972-73 it is various design of UMBRO logo and
fabric.

This design home shirt, Liverpool field players use in match FA Cup Final. For this
match was used special embroudery CUP FINAL 1971.
H 1.1 - Home shirt (special embroidery CUP FINAL 1971)
with home shorts (embroidery UMBRO logo) & home socks.
Surprisingly, but on a goalkeeper shirt for the FA Cup Final, for the first time in
history of Liverpool shirts the made factory Umbro, has appeared trade mark Umbro that was
not on shirts of field players. In what the reason of such difference, is unknown.
Was used a special one-off match embroidery in capital
letters "CUP FINAL 1971" on the chest of the shirt (left image with player
shirt). Right image with commemorative shirt.
Interesting fact: About Emlyn
Hughes FA Cup Final, shirt which written Michael Yip (www.liverpoolkits.com).
Emlyn Hughes' match worn Liverpool F.A. Cup Final 1971 shirt.
The shirt was originated from legend Ian Ross. Basically, Ian Ross had played in most of
the games during the 1970-1971 F.A. Cup run in as Emlyn Hughes was injured. However,
Shankly choose Emyln Hughes for the F.A. Cup Final 1971 and dropped Ian Ross. After the
game Emlyn Hughes gave Ian Ross his shirt. This came straight from Ian's mouth.
Featured Tommy Smith the skipper together with his sixteen
Liverpool teammates lining up together. If you have sharp eyes, you should spot them all
in the F.A. Cup Final 1971 one-off match shirt, but this photo was certainty not taken on
the pitch at Wembley Stadium on the aforesaid Cup Final match day. Was it a sort of
promotional event that every player put on the cup final kit?

Manufacturer: Umbro
Years worn: 1965-71
In this home goalkeeper shirt (round collar) Liverpool first played in ...
In a season 1965-66 the design home goalkeeper shirt has changed (how I

When I change my page about Liverpool kits in season 1970-71,
I to finsd what I mistake in section about home goalkeeper shirt. Now I can written what
new style goalkeeper shirt was used may be in end season 1970-71.
This two fragments with Liverpool team photos. First fragment
with pre-season photo (left), Ray Clemence and Tommy Lawrence in goalkeeper shirts with
ring collar. First fragment with may be pre FA Cup Final photo (right), Ray Clemence (with

I not know, was used this shirt Liverpool goalkeepers,
but now I have only this player goalkeeper shirt.
Photo Tommy Lawrence in home gaalkeeper shirt with season
1967-68.
How to distinguish a shirt of a season 1965-66, from a shirt of a seasons 1966-70,
very difficultly. Most likely, it is distinctions in design of a label of firm of
manufacturer Umbro under a collar. But now not as more shirts used in seasons 1966-70 in
collections.
Before season 1974-75, on Liverpool goalkeeper shirt
without player number.

In middle january 2021 I to find black-white photo with Ray
Clemence (left image). |
May be 27 March 1971 year, on the Liverpool shirts appeared the emblem of the
manufacturer of the kits of the company Umbro, it was on the goalkeeper's shirt, not on
shirt field players. This was in neutral FA Cup match versus Everton. Before I think this
was in FA Cup Final, 8 May 1971. Think on this second home goalkeeper shirt was used
embroidered black-white-red UMBRO logo.
One of match spring 1971 year, when we to see on Ray Clemence (color photo) dressin
second home goalkeeper shirt with Umbro logo on left side shirt. Fragment with away
match Division One versus Chelsera (12.04.1971). Think on this second home goalkeeper
shirtwas used embroidered black-white-blue UMBRO logo.
On screenshots Ray Clemence in home European Fairs Cup match
versus Leeds United (14.04.1971). Ray 100% played in second home goalkeeper shirt with
Liverbird. For this screenshots not can to watch Umbro logo on shirt.
As to the first occurrence of Umbro logo on shirts of field players it was in home
match UEFA Cup Final 1st Leg versus Borussia Moenchengladbach (FRG), 10.05.1973.
But main, why in season 1970-71, Liverpool used 2 variant
home goalkeeper shirt (images left). 1 - Home goalkeeper shirt with Umbro logo and with
embroidered Liverbird. 2 - Home goalkeeper shirt with Umbro logo and without embroidered
club emblem. May be used home goalkeeper shirt without Umbro logo and without embroidered
Liverpool.
When I change my page about Liverpool kits in season 1970-71,
I to finsd what I mistake in section about home goalkeeper shirt. Now I can written what
new style goalkeeper shirt was used may be in end season 1970-71.
