In this design away shirt (big yellow-white UMBRO logo & yellow Liverbird)
Liverpool may be first played in neutral FA Charity Shield match versus Southampton, 1-0,
14.08.1976, at Wembley.
Interesting what in second half this match, Liverpool players to go in field at
Wembley in away shirt (without special match embroider). To see photo in top left page,
Steve Heighway in shirt with special match embroidery, Kevin Keegan in shirt without
special match embroidery. This change shirt was late in some matches, how:
18.03.1978 versus Nottingham Forest, League Cup Final.
Course of shirt with number 14 not was worn in Charity Shield
match, but shirts which Liverpool field players played in Charity Shield match, nothing
not differ from this.
Was used a special one-off match embroidery in capital
letters "F.A. CHARITY SHIELD WEMBLEY 1976" on the chest of the shirt.

On Friday 29th September 2000 Liverpool's most successful player ever, Phil Neal,
auctioned his collection of Memorabilia at Christies auction house, Kensington London,
Amongst his swapped shirts and medals he also auctioned his match worn shirts from some of
the major finals Liverpool had competed in during his playing time at Anfield.
The images top are of these shirts and include the price the shirts sold for on the
