LFC to support Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal
29th October 2021
Liverpool FC will show its support for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal
2021 with men’s and women’s shirts embellished with poppies ahead of this year’s
Remembrance commemorations.
LFC’s men’s team will don their poppy shirts at Saturday’s fixture with
Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield and LFC Women will wear their poppy shirts when they
take on Blackburn Rovers Ladies at Prenton Park next weekend.
All players will sign their poppy jerseys - worn to remember the service and
sacrifice of the armed forces who defend our freedom and democracy - and donate them to
the Royal British Legion to be auctioned to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal 2021.
The Royal British Legion, which this year marks its centenary, relies solely on the
support of the public in order to provide lifelong support for both serving and ex-serving
personnel and their families.
Last year, the Reds’ commemorative shirts worn at the Manchester City and
Sheffield United Women fixtures raised more than Ј64,000 for the Royal British Legion.
A minute of silence will be observed ahead of kick-off at both fixtures, and
further support to the Poppy Appeal will be given through an article published in the LFC
matchday programme, perimeter LED boards and a Premier League LFC Poppy Pin, on sale in
LFC’s online retail store.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds raised from sale of the badge will go directly
to the Royal British Legion. To purchase a club-branded pin badge and show your support,
please visit https://store.liverpoolfc.com/lfc-rbl-poppy or https://www.poppyshop.org.uk/
The Club will also proudly host service personnel from the RAF and representatives
from the Royal British Legion as well as veterans from the LFC Foundation’s Military
Veterans programme at Anfield on Saturday to enjoy the game.
Reds captain, Jordan Henderson, said: "As a team it’s with great pride that
we wear the poppy shirt, and together show our thanks to those in armed forces and their
families for the many sacrifices that they make for us all.”
Niamh Fahey, LFC Women’s captain, added: "After the Liverpool Women's team
wore the poppy on our jerseys for the first-time last year, we want to do so again for
Remembrance Day. The players and staff are together in supporting this and hopefully the
auction attached to it can raise valuable funds for a worthy cause."

Standard Chartered to swap Reds' logo in support of
Futuremakers
2nd October 2021
Liverpool FC has once again teamed up with main partner Standard Chartered as it
swaps its logo on the front of the Reds' shirts for the 'Futuremakers by Standard
Chartered' logo.
This season’s logo swap – which aims to raise awareness and funds for the
Futuremakers initiative – will take place during the Premier League match against
Manchester City on Sunday.
And, for the first time, Standard Chartered is also swapping its logo on the LFC
Women’s team’s shirts during their game against Aston Villa Women on Wednesday October
13.
Want to get your hands on these shirts?
The players will sign these limited-edition shirts after their matches and Standard
Chartered will auction them off at charitystars.com/collection/lfc-futuremakers-2021 from
October 5 to 24.
All proceeds raised are matched by Standard Chartered and go to Futuremakers by
Standard Chartered.
2021’s logo swap campaign
For the campaign this year, Standard Chartered worked with the Reds’ Nathaniel
Phillips and Missy Bo Kearns and the mentors who inspired them to become the players they
are today.
Their mentors – in Phillips’ case, his dad; and for Kearns, boxing champion
Liam Smith – have written messages of support to both players which Standard Chartered
has printed inside the Futuremakers shirts they’ll wear during their respective matches
this month.
Last year, the logo swap campaign raised close to USD84,000 for Futuremakers,
before bank-matching.
About Futuremakers by Standard Chartered
Futuremakers by Standard Chartered is the bank’s global initiative that aims to
tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion for young people across its
markets.
It aims to raise USD75 million between 2019 and 2023 to empower the next generation
to learn, earn and grow through programmes focusing on education, employability and
entrepreneurship.
