Liverpool FC unveils first Nike home kit for 2020-21
season
1st August 2020
Liverpool FC has today revealed the new Nike home kit for the 2020-21 season, which
is now available to pre-order.
The first Reds strip to be designed by Nike as part of the new partnership, the
home shirt sees a traditional vibrant red jersey, accented with teal and white around the
V-neck collar and sleeves.
Red, white and teal has been a traditional colourway used throughout the club’s
history, relating to the traditional crest, while also appearing as a prominent feature on
the iconic LFC jersey since the club was founded in 1892.
Teal is also a colour that represents the city of Liverpool, reminiscent of the
shade of the Liver Bird that sits at the top of the famous Liver Building.
The new kit is available to pre-order in store and online now and will go on
general sale for purchase in store and online from Thursday August 6. It is also available
now for Early Access from nike.com and all other Nike retailers from Thursday August 6.
“I’ve been part of the Nike family for a while now and have an incredible
relationship with them,” said Virgil van Dijk. “I’m very familiar with the quality
of the design and innovation that goes into making a kit like this. Stepping out as
champions next season in this kit will be really special.”
LFC’s unique name and number style is also available again this season. The fonts
have been designed to embody iconic characteristics of Anfield and the surrounding area
and come in white for the outfield players’ jersey.
Following the success of the 2019-20 season, supporters will also be able to
purchase gold Premier League patches and the FIFA Club World Cup winners’ patch to be
added onto their shirts.
Billy Hogan, managing director and chief commercial officer at LFC, said: “We
said back in January, when we first announced the new partnership with Nike, about our
expectations on them becoming an incredible partner for the club. We’re so excited to be
starting this journey with Nike, the global leader in sports apparel, and we look forward
to working together to bring performance and lifestyle product to our supporters in the
years ahead.”
To celebrate the kit launch, working alongside Red Neighbours the club is also
donating 100 home kits to young people in the Anfield area who have made a difference to
their local community during lockdown.
The youngsters will be carefully selected by teachers from the 25 schools based
near Anfield, local community leaders and the Red Neighbours team for the fantastic
contribution they have made to support others in the local area during these challenging
times.
Nike is also committed to supporting the local community and is working with Earl
Jenkins and Kingsley United, who play from the the Tiber Street Partnership, to lower the
barriers to entry and offer play and sport-based programming for young people aged four to
16 in the community.
Nike will also be opening a brand new shop-in-shop experience at the Anfield retail
store from Thursday August 6, where supporters can purchase the entire Nike range,
including home kit, the new training kit and Express lifestyle collection, which will also
be launching on this day.

Liverpool FC to support poppy appeal at West Ham
fixture
30th October 2020
Liverpool FC will support the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal 2020 this weekend
with shirts featuring poppies to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Following the Reds' fixture with West Ham United at Anfield on Saturday, the
players will sign their jerseys - worn to commemorate those who have made personal
sacrifices to secure and protect our freedom - and donate them to the Royal British Legion
to be auctioned to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal 2020.
Last year, the commemorative shirts worn during Liverpool's game against Manchester
City raised more than Ј52,000 for the Royal British Legion - a record-breaking total to
be raised by a single Premier League club's poppy shirts.
The Legion's work is more vital than ever this year as the charity supports
communities through additional hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from those
struggling with social isolation, financial difficulties and unemployment, to others who
have lost loved ones or are facing the threat of homelessness.
Along with a minute's silence ahead of kick-off on Saturday, further support to the
Poppy Appeal will be given through an article published in the matchday programme,
perimeter LED boards and a Premier League LFC Poppy Pin, on sale in LFC's online retail
store.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds raised from the sale of the badge will go
directly to the Royal British Legion. To purchase a club-branded pin badge and show your
support, click here.
Andy Robertson said: "It's always an honour for us as a team to wear the poppy
with pride to show our thanks to those in armed forces for the many sacrifices that they
make.
"We thank them and their families too for everything they do, whilst also
remembering those who have lost their lives serving their country."
Liverpool FC Women's Remembrance fixture will take place on Sunday November 8 at
their FA Women's Championship clash with Sheffield United Women.
Claire Rowcliffe, director of fundraising at the Royal British Legion, said:
"The pandemic has had an overwhelming impact on people's livelihoods and way of life,
leaving some in the armed forces community in dire need of urgent help and support.
"We are extremely grateful for the support that Premier League clubs and the
football community show the Poppy Appeal every year. The Legion's work is entirely
dependent on the public's generous support, and this year we need that support more than
ever, so we can ensure that those who have served and sacrificed on our behalf are looked
after. Every poppy counts."

replica shirts of Liverpool FC has raised for 8.04 pounds.
If you take a very close look, the patterns are actually not
entirely random but more so just offset from shirt to shirt.
In production, while we cannot prove it of course, the
pattern is printed on a roll of fabric, tiling along the length of it, before the
different shirt panels are cut out and later sewn together. It also appears that two or
more shirt fronts fit along the width of the fabric as elements of the design appear
offset to the right and left on the finished product as well.
If remember, this was as with third shirts for seasons 1993 to 1996, this two
replica shirts.

After photos of the alleged leg warmers for the third set of Liverpool kits were
published. A user of Football
FX made a concept version of the third shirt, on December 2, 2019, as he
sees it. It's funny, but there were people who implemented its concept version in a real
shirt made for sale, it is on the photo on the right, the concept version, of course, on
the left. Only our craftsmen not only added various Nike logos, but also managed to copy
the "FFX" logo (in a red oval) below the collar - which is the author's mark of
the designer of the concept version.
